The South African Netball Team fell short at the Netball World Cup in Liverpool on the semi-finals this past Sunday. The girls played an incredible game but England’s defence was incredibly strong and well-orchestrated and the Proteas ultimately lost 42-58. The loss was consoled when the team’s wing defender Karla Pretorius was named Player of the 2019 Vitality World Cup.
The teams win against Uganda last Wednesday booked them a spot in the semi finals of the Netball World Cup for the first time in 24 years. The country rallied our girls to the semi final and cheered for them despite the loss.
The proteas played a good game that displayed talent and skill throughout the World Cup. They made the whole country proud, which was also a proud moment for all the women in sport.
