The grass suffered badly when Mamelodi Sundowns and Cape Town City battled it out in Moripe stadium this week as they were fighting to climb one spot higher in the PSL log table. The match’s competitiveness resulted in the two teams drawing and sharing points.
Sundowns captain Hlompho Kekana opened up the game and led by example when he managed to score within the first eight minutes, causing a stir on social media. Cape Town City’s defender Edmilson Dove crashed any hope that the Sundowns may have had of winning when he scored exactly 17 minutes after the first goal.
Despite how well Sundowns played in the first half, the game became tougher in the second half when both teams were playing at a frantic pace, leaving no room for clear cut opportunities.
